Cast the Light

Premiered in Albert Square in Manchester, Cast the Light places the audience at the very heart of one of the worlds most epic stories. Rama stands on the edge of the ocean. Desperate to cross and rescue his beloved wife Sita, he seeks help from his loyal friend Hanuman, who calls upon his monkey army in their thousands (played by the audience) to help construct a bridge spanning 30 miles. Cast the Light is a captivating piece of outdoor theatre from the Ramayana, with poetic text, dance, puppetry, mass choreography, spectacular lighting design, a theatrical composition, and punctuated by pyrotechnics & special effects.
